Storia:
To go back to the first written traces that tell of this product we must go back to the seventeenth century: it was initially called "bondiola" and remembered above all by travelers, who told of this delicious aged meat typical of the place. If at first it was served above all in the lavish and rich banquets of the nobles, later it spread more and more also in local markets. The production method was handed down by peasant families from generation to generation, until it became a point of reference for the economic and social city of Parma, receiving the European IGP certification in 2011.

The Coppa di Parma has a bright red color of the slice, with intense and aromatic hints, given to it by the 4-5 months aging, and a slightly savory and soft flavor, which allows you to fully perceive the taste of its excellent meat: for this reason it stands out clearly from other types of cups. It is certainly tastier and spicier than its "sister" Coppa Piacentina Dop.
In the "Slice" type it will be delivered vacuum packed, ready to cut with label.
Tips & Pairings:
Coppa di Parma IGP is consumed for high-level appetizers, as a precious ingredient for salads or quiches, in tasty aperitifs but also as a filling for soft sandwiches and wraps. It goes well with flavored sparkling white wines, such as Malvasia, and with not too full-bodied red wines.
